Your ad had minor issues the Ad Portal detected and automatically corrected. You will receive an automatic email with this information and instructions to review the result and approve your ad or resubmit a new ad. |
Examples of Fixes: |
- Your file contains annotations
- Your file contains annotations that are set to print. These annotations have been removed.
- Graphic element lies completely outside of the media box. These elements have been removed.

Passed with Warnings |
Your ad has Passed the digital preflight with warnings. The warnings will be indicated in your preflight report. |
What does this mean to me? |
Your ad had minor issues the Ad Portal detected. You will receive an automatic email with this information and instructions to review the result and approve your ad or resubmit a new ad. |
Examples of Warnings: |
- Your file is a PDF2go file.
- Your file contains Type 3 fonts.
- Your file contains Composite fonts.
- Your fonts have been artificially styled (bold, italic, outlined, and/or shadowed).
- Your ink coverage exceeds 300%.
- Resolution of a color or grayscale image is below 300dpi.
- Resolution of B/W images is below 900 DPI.
- Files contain CEPS data.
- Image is not scaled proportionately. This disproportional scaling is more than 10%.
- Text is smaller than 10 points and is colored with 2 or more separations.
- Text is smaller than 10 points and is white.

What does this mean to me? |
Your ad had minor issues the Ad Portal detected and automatically corrected. You should review these warnings to make sure that the fixes are okay. You will receive an automatic email with this information and instructions to review the result and approve your ad or resubmit a new ad. |
Examples of Fixes: |
- Text and line art are tagged with an ICC profile. This profile has been removed.
- Images are tagged with an ICC profile. This profile has been removed.
- OPI is used. The OPID has been removed for images that are above 300dpi.
- White text does not knock out. This has been resolved and white text will now knock out.
- Black text is smaller than 10 points and does not overprint. This has been resolved and all black text over 10 points will now overprint.
- White objects do not knock out. This has been resolved and all white objects will now knock out.

The Ad Portal has identified critical issues with your ad and has failed your ad. You will receive an email notification with this information including a preflight report. Review the preflight report, correct your errors and resubmit a new ad. |
Examples of critical issues: |
- PDF producer is PDFWriter.
- PDF uses more advanced features than PDF version 1.3.
- Document is damaged.
- PDF contains encryption.
- PDF printing is not allowed.
- PDF contains transparent element.
- Your file contains Multi-Master fonts.
- Image uses 16 bits per channel.
- High-resolution image in OPI path is missing.
- Non-embedded fonts.
- PDF contains transparent element. Ads4Elsevier accepts PDF-X-1a compliant files or PDFs saved as version 1.3

Examples of Fixes: |
- Non-embedded fonts. Industry-standard Adobe fonts have been embedded.
- PDF contains transparent element. The transparent elements contained in your file(s) should be converted within the native
layout application, or flattened in Acrobat using the High Resolution Flattener Presets and saved as version 1.3.
